Here's the latest news of the Troy Arts Council...

August 6, 2021

The Troy Arts Council has been providing the Pike County community a variety of musical experiences since 1972. Although this past year has been extremely challenging for all of us as we endure changes in our life styles and loses due to COVID–19, the TAC Board has made the decision that it is time to return to providing our community with outstanding live musical entertainment.

The TAC Board has met several time this year and has arranged a variety concerts for the remainder of this year and early next year. The decision to resume our concert series was not made lightly and we will do everything possible to insure a healthy and safe environment for both the audience and the performers.

I know most of you look forward to all of our presentations and especially “Shelia Jackson & Friends” in the first week of December. This concert is scheduled for December 11, 2021. This past year, Shelia and TAC provided her concert virtually and it was an outstanding success. Television stations in Montgomery and Dothan, along with Troy University provided viewers the opportunity to be a part of this experience. The concert was also a hit on social media platforms. Additional programs for the remained of this year are:

The Alabama Jazz Collective, August 24, 2021
Troy Jazz Ensemble One, September 23, 2021
Sail On, A Beach Boys Tribute, October 4, 2021
Chanticleer, October 10, 2021
Vintage Vixens, November 9, 2021
The U.S. Army Band, November 10, 2021 * Presented by Troy University

There will be additional events identified as soon as dates are finalized. All these events will be open to the entire community and tickets will not be required. Reserved seating will be provided for 2020 TAC members.

As we look forward to 2022, the Board has confirmed several events along with many pending. We look forward to having you join us for a fun filled 2021 fall season.

Once again, thank you for being a faithful partner with the Troy Arts Council.

Sincerely,

Bill Hopper

President, Troy Arts Council

Chanticleer Concert Cancellation

Tomorrow was to have been a wonderful concert with Chanticleer for our community. Sadly, COVID-19 forced the cancellation of the concert, in addition to many other things in Troy and around the world. Please know that we are in talks with their management to bring them back at a later time, most likely in the 2022 season. For those of you that bought tickets online already, you have two options:

1. Keep your tickets - they will be honored for any other future ticketed show that we present.
2. Keep your tickets - they will be honored at the future Chanticleer concert (date TBD)
3. Email us through our website troyartscouncil.com and let us know you'd like a refund. We will work to make that happen in a timely manner.
